Smith RaymondSMITH, Raymond Bryce Smith   - October 27, 1934 – August 20, 2021

Dad passed peacefully at Sunnybrook hospital on August the 20, 2021.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Ester, brother Fred, and step- daughter Ingrid Horner. He will be dearly missed by his brother Larry (Jean) of Brockville.

Dad will always be lovingly remembered by all of his children, Pat (Brad), Frank (Cathy), Jeff (Stella), Rick (Sue), Glen (Kerry), Wayne Horner (Sue), and Sandra Horner.

Dad was a loving uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather.  Ray was a very active member in the community his whole life.

He was born in Oshawa in 1934 and spent his working career of 42 years in General Motors.

Dad was a tool and die maker, apprentice representative, and retired as a supervisor of quality control. In his spare time, Dad coached many of his children in hockey, ringette, and baseball.

He was a member of The Legion, Canadian Corps, Masons, 420 Wing, past president of Woodview Park, and the Thunderbird archery club.

Whether it was bowling, going out to a dance or walking with the seniors, he always loved a gathering of friends and family. To us, Dad was a rescuer of both people and cats.

He will be greatly missed but always in our hearts.

Special thanks to the Sunnybrook ICU, Stroke Ward, and Palliative Care teams for their kindness and dedication.

A private family service will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King St W, Oshawa, Ontario, (905-721-1234).

Memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society or a  CHARITY of your choosing.
