BENSON, Juanita “Neen” Pauline (nee Leland)  -  Loving and caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend to many.

She left the world peacefully on August 20, 2021, in her 92nd year.

Mom was born to Frederick and Minnie Leland on March 17, 1929 in Trenton, Ontario.

Mom was predeceased by five brothers and sisters.

Mom was married to the love of her life, Wesley Benson (predeceased) and remained married for 57 years.

Together they had three children: James (predeceased), Bonnie (predeceased William), and Steven.

Juanita was a dedicated mother, raising her three children in Scarborough before moving to Uxbridge in 1971, where she remained until her death. She was a proud Nana to Adam (Kate), and Courtney (Jeff) as well as a cherished Great-Grandmother “Gigi” to Ella, Hudson, Charlie, and Bowen.

Juanita was a respected and avid volunteer with Durham Community Care for over thirty years where she participated in the Home Garden Tours, Luncheons, Christmas Bazaars and donated countless knitted and crocheted baby outfits to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.

She was also an active member and volunteer with the Uxbridge Trinity United Church for over 50 years. When she wasn’t volunteering, she enjoyed traveling and seeing plays with her friends.

A very special thank you from our family to Dr. Jennifer Wilson for her care and support of Mom for many years.

Service will be held at Uxbridge Cemetery on Monday August 30, 2021 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Juanita’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society of Canada, or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
