ALSOP, William Richard   - Passed away peacefully at Oak Ridges Hospice on Monday, August 23, 2021 at the age of 93.

Beloved son of the late James and Gertrude Alsop.

Bill will be greatly missed by his son Jonathon, as well as numerous friends and family including nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his wife Edith (Brooks) and his brother Gordon.

Bill grew up in Ashworth north of Uxbridge where he spent his life farming. Together with his brother Gord, he raised shorthorn cattle, pigs and kept draft horses which he enjoyed working with from the age of 8. From the smallest fair to the Royal, if there were good horses, he was interested.

Throughout his life he also enjoyed going dancing, something he did into his eighties. It was at a dance where he met Edith, and with her that he spent the happiest years of his life.

Regardless the backdrop Bill was happy to have a chat with friends and family alike, he valued a good visit whether in person or over the phone.

Thank you to the staff at Oak Ridges Hospice for the last week of care, and to staff at Butternut Manor for their care and for creating a home for Bill over the last several years.

If you wish, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Belgian Horse Association.

A private funeral and reception will be held at the Uxbridge Cemetery and the Quaker Meeting House on Saturday, August 28th.
