OBRIST, Fridolin Johan - It is with great sadness that the family of Fridolin (Fred) Obrist announce his passing at Bowmanville Memorial Hospital on September 21, 2021 at the age of 96.
The loving husband and best friend of the late Lily Rose (2020), married 68 years.
Loving father of Peter (Cathy), Michael, Robert (Sharon), Mark (Deborah), Christine (Bill), Louie, Brian (Janice).
Beloved grandpa of Craig (Unchong), Kellie (Tim), Lindsay (Heather), Sherry (Ryan), Lisa (Paul), Heather (Justin), Ashley (Jake), Brian (Justine), Michelle (Colin).
Loving great grandpa of (Emma, Elli & Ethan), (Grace & Oliver), (Julia, Callum & Finn), (Weston & Roman), (Eleanor, Adelaide & Audrey), (Mackenzie, Quinton & Dallas), (Grayson), (James, Carter & Oakley).
He will be greatly missed by extended family, friends and loyal customers of Fred`s Fruit Market.
His passion for the orchard and farming was evident in his dedicated, hardworking character.
Fred was a loving husband, excellent family provider, instilling a strong work ethic in his children and grandchildren.
He was known as Grandpa Apple to all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be held at Newcastle Funeral Home on Monday, September 27, 2021 from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. Followed by interment at 3:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Fred can be made to a CHARITY of your choice.
