PICCIONE, Josephine  -  It is with great sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of Giuseppina (Josephine) Piccione.

She was born on August 1st, 1936 in Termini Imerese, Italy and passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on September 28th, 2021 at the age of 85 years old.

She is survived by Tanino (Joanne), Anna-Maria (James) and Anthony (Laura).

Beloved Nonna to her grandchildren Joanna (Brayan), Laura, Matthew, Liana, Toni, Sabrina, Matteo, Joseph and her great-granddaughter Ellie.

A beloved Zia and friend to many.

She was the eldest child of Antonio and Maria Bondi and sister to the late Lorenzo (Yolanda), Agostino (Franca) and late Giuseppe Bondi. In 1959, she married the love of her life (late) Giuseppe Piccione.

Together, married almost 60 years, cherishing every moment with him building and cultivating the most important thing in her life, family. Josie, as she was known to those close to her, loved to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren, gathering for meals together and celebrating every special occasion.

Josie was by far a simple woman, she was far ahead of her time, strong and determined, she was wise and truly the kindest soul. Her laugh was contagious and felt throughout the room.

Her strong faith and love of her children will always be felt, her warm hugs, her gentle touch and her gift to make everyone feel as though they mattered most will be greatly missed.

The family will receive guests at the McEachnie Funeral Home, Ajax Ontario, on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  COVID-19 Restictions apply.  Registration required.  The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church (1001 Ravenscroft Rd., Ajax) on Saturday October 2, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Entombment in North York.
