THORNTON, Thomas Edward - February 18th, 1936 - October 23rd, 2021
Tom passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday October 23rd, at the age of 85.
Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Norma (nee Anderson), his five children; Julie (Jack), Janice, Jeff (Julie), Tammy (Mark), and Nora, as well as his seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
He was a diehard fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He made some lifelong friends thru his enjoyment of 10 pin bowling, and golf.
He worked at GM for 33 years, and retired at the age of 51.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King Street East, Oshawa, on Friday October 29th, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE VISITATION, please register online through Tom’s webpage at armstrongfh.ca or call 905-433-4711.
Masks are mandatory. As per Tom’s wishes, no public service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the SickKids Foundation, or a CHARITY of your choice.
