Zimmer HansZIMMER, Hans   -  September 12th, 1946 - November 24th, 2021

Hans Zimmer, born September 12, 1946 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 75.

Beloved husband of Rosemarie for over 49 years.

Loving father of Craig (Andrea) and Matthew (Brandi). Cherished Opa of Nathaniel, Noah, Katherine, and Isaac.

Hans will be missed by his nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

How do you sum up a person? He worked hard, spending 35 years doing shiftwork at DuPont to ensure that his family always never went without.

He had a playful spirit, loving to tease have fun with those he around him.

He was very sociable and would talk to anyone, joking, laughing and talking.

He loved to travel and found a second home in Malta, his summers there were something that he lived for. He loved sports and followed his Toronto teams to the end.

He loved his family and always showed it in his own unique way.

He was married for 49 years and he loved Rose deeply. They built a family and life together; they saw the world together and they will forever be as one.

He cared for her while she recovered from an accident, doing all he could to help her return to health in ways that many don’t know about. He was a father who taught his boys to work hard, fight hard and always be true to yourself.

His lessons might not have been traditional, but they worked and he was so proud of his sons and their accomplishments. He adored his grandchildren, who brought him more joy than he had ever expected, and they became the centre of his life.

He went to watch their sports, dance recitals, Christmas concerts and activities. They softened him and made him love in a way he never thought possible.

They were his heart and his world. He loved his family deeply, and in his mind, they were his greatest accomplishment in life.

As per his wishes, there will be no service or ceremony and cremation has taken place, and Hans would like everyone to have a beer in his memory and remember him fondly.
