Shields MarielleSHIELDS, Marielle Rose (Gilbert) Shields   -  March 17, 1933 - December 17, 2021

It is with the heaviest of hearts, we her adoring children, Alison Buckley, Mark Shields (Mary Ann) and Daphne (Todd Flint) must announce the passing of our beautiful mother.

Mom was born in St. Cyprien Quebec on a Friday, March 17, 1933. Daughter to the late Adolph and Jeanne (Provost)

She was the best friend, wife and companion to the late Donald Shields. A celebration of 55 years.

Mom was the most loving of all nanas. Each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren will carry the fondest memories of her forever.

Lindsay (Jordon), Lauren (predeceased) and Thomas (Mariah)Buckley

Nathan (Stephanie), Dylan, Jordan and Monica Flint

Savanna and Melanie Shields

Winona and Esmay Renton and Cole Buckley

She leaves behind siblings, Claire Metz, Benoit Gilbert (Doris) Ghislaine Bélec (Norm).

Predeceased by Marcel Gilbert, Francoîse Gilbert and Ghislain Gilbert.

Many nieces and nephews abroad. Sister-in-law to Gord Shields (Elsie) and Joan Bouckley.

Mom’s health was a continuous battle through most of her years. She demonstrated resilience and determination to beat all the odds; to be present for our family. The love she had for us was immense. She was our friend, our mentor, our confidant, our cheerleader, our shoulder to cry on.

Due to complications this past week mom was taken suddenly.

Thank you to all who showed compassion and care to our precious mother.

Our beloved mother was a magical soul. We love her so much. She will rest in Heaven now.
