Rogers NoraROGERS, Nora Marie (née Sever) –   Nora Marie, a resident of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, died Monday, December 20, 2021 at the age of 84.

Born on Tuesday, 3 August 1937, in Listowel, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Florence “Peggy” Groves formerly of England and the late Reginald “Reg” Sever.

She loved music, was a choir member at St John's Anglican Church in Whitby, at St. James Anglican Church in Cambridge and at All Saints Anglican Church in Whitby.

She enjoyed reading and crocheting.

She'd like to be remembered for loving her family.

She supported my dad in his business ventures over the years, including many years of sailing, even though she didn't swim and didn't like water.

Nora spent many years volunteering with Scouts Canada and earned her Gilwell Wood Badge Beads while volunteering with the 3rd Whitby Cub group.

She also felt one of her major accomplishments was getting her motorcycle license when she was 53.  And yes, it was still valid at 84.

If she lived life over again, she would truly learn to play the guitar.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Allen Edward Rogers, son of the late Albert Rogers and the late Katherine “Kay” (Gamblin) formerly of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.

Nora Marie is survived by four children, Robert “Bob” of Kitchener, Ontario, Terrance “Terry” and his wife Kristine “Kris” (Rawn) of Oakwood, Ontario, Ingrid and her husband Robert “Bob” Allan of Oshawa, Ontario, and Derek and his wife Jasmine (Roy) of Edmonton, Alberta; one sister, Marjorie Sever of Cambridge, Ontario, two half siblings, Roger Sever of Ayr, Ontario, and Bea Sever of Willow River, British Columbia; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth “Liz”, Melissa June “MJ” and her husband Robert (Tyler) Williams, Andrew and his wife Tracy (Hood), Angela, Brooke-Lynn, Jaeden , Soroya, and Veronica; five great grandchildren, Austin, Kaeley "Kay", Joshua, Victoria "Tori", and Hannah; two great-great grandchildren, Johnathon and Heidi.

Nora Marie was preceded in death by three siblings, Isabel (Irene), Beatrice May, and Neil Alexander; four grandparents, May Rebecca Smith, Henry “Harry” Groves of England, Emma Letha Beatrice (Robertson) Sever and Earl D Sever.

Visitation will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, 150 Victoria Street East, Whitby, Ontario on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 1:30 – 2:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church at 2:00pm. Attendance is very limited; please call the funeral home to register.
