Poyser DorisPOYSER, Doris Irene (nee Whitlock)   -  February 22, 1925 – January 10, 2022

Born in Hackney, London England, one of ten brothers and sisters.

Doris saw military service during WWII on Anti-Aircraft sites and heavy artillery batteries in various locations in and around England.

She received an Honourable Discharge and was awarded Exemplary and Good Service Certificates.

She married husband Dennis in 1948, and daughter Cathryn was born in 1950.

They came to Canada by ship in October of 1954 during Hurricane Hazel and lived in Toronto.

She became a Canadian Citizen before the birth of her second daughter, Elizabeth, but was always a proud Brit. Doris was an Opera buff and lover of Classical music. 

Loving mother to Cathryn and Elizabeth (Jim). Grandmother to Pamela, David, Shawn and Chris. Great grandmother to Sara, Daniel (Joyce), Amanda, Dharma, Sage, Colby, Dakota and Shelby. 

A National Treasure who would have been made a Dame, but the wheel came off! 

Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME , 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Saturday, January 29th from 12:30 p.m. until time of a Service of Remembrance at 1:30 p.m.
