Blake LeesaBLAKE, Leesa Jane   -  Peacefully, Leesa Jane Blake passed, after bravely facing pancreatic cancer for the last six months.

She was a beloved wife, mother, teacher, author, and lover of all things in the natural world.

She is survived by her husband Ian Jay, daughter Glynis, sister Laurie (Wally), brother Stephen (Gaynor), sister Leslie (Kevin) and sister-in-law Mary Blake.

She was predeceased by her brothers Graham, Stuart, and her parents Calvin and Bette (Clement).

Leesa taught Biology for many years for the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) at Inglenook Alternative High School and Malvern Collegiate Institute as well as working as a Science Consultant with the Central Staff of the TDSB.

She was the lead author for the Nelson Biology 11 Textbook and was President of the Science Teachers Association of Ontario (STAO) in 2009.

We will have a celebration of her life on Saturday, April 2, from 2-5 p.m. at  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa).
