Tilk GeraldTILK, Gerald  - (May 6th, 1946 - February 20th, 2022)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Tilk on February 20, 2022.

He was the dear husband of Linda (Eccles) of over 53 years and proud, loving father of Susan Tilk, and son-in-law, Chad Sakac.

He will be greatly missed by his cherished granddaughters Julie and Sarah Sakac.

He was predeceased by his wonderful siblings Delbert, Isabelle (Sutton), Don and Alvin, and half-sister Kim (Bernard).

He was a beloved uncle to many nephews and nieces.

Gerald was born in Oshawa May 6, 1946.

He was an accomplished and well-respected refrigeration mechanic. Gerald owned and operated HADL Refrigeration Ltd (Home Appliances Durham Ltd) for over 30 years and was honoured to have so many loyal and appreciative customers for so many years.

He was passionate for music, a great bottle of wine and sports of all kinds and levels.

For many years he greatly enjoyed volunteering his time with the Oshawa Aquatic Club, where he met great friends and was affectionately known to the swimmers as “Mr. T”.

As an avid baseball fan, he recently traveled to 14 different major league baseball parks to watch his favourite team, the Toronto Blue Jays.

Right until the moment he died his wit, humour and good-heartedness was felt by all that knew him.

Gerald, Dad, Papa, we love you and will miss you dearly.

A celebration of his life will be held in the spring where family, friends and neighbours can share in stories, food, and toasts.

Online condolences may be shared at armstrongfh.ca .
