Lewis CherylLEWIS, Cheryl Darlene (Hoskin)   -  Sadly we announce the peaceful passing of Darlene on February 26th, 2022 in her 78th year. 

Loving wife of John for 54 years.

Proud and loving mother to Wendy Melnick (Jeff) and Robert (Chantal).

Adoring nan to Lauryn Melnick, Sarah, Monica, and Olivia Lewis.

Beloved sister-in-law to Ken (Martha), Murray (Maria) and Marian (Colin) as well as an aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. 

Predeceased by her loving husband John, parents Glen and Doreen Hoskin, her parents-in-law Richard and Alma Lewis, her brother-in-law’s Ken and Colin, sister-in-law Martha, and her granddaughter Monica.

Darlene was a strong and determined women who fought fiercely through any challenges placed in front of her.

She spent her school years going to Donovan high school, and then went on to go to Ontario Business College. She spent her young workings years working at Starite pumps, where she met her husband, John.

She was a dedicated worker and went on to work at both Zellers and Holland Lumber where she met many lifelong friends.  

As she got older, she and John were blessed with 2 children, who’s fondest memories include going to the cottage, Sunday picnics and going to the races.

Many of her weekends were spent going to the as at the races where she would watch her families’ horses’ race, as well as seeing tribute artists, which soon evolved into her running a fan club for Bernie Jessome, as well. 

Darlene’s pride and joy were her 4 granddaughters, and she would tell anyone who was willing to listen all about them.

Weekends soon became focused on sleepovers, dress up and spending as much time with family as possible.  

In the last few years, Darlene developed a strong love for bingo and painting and was a very active participant in activities in her Taunton Mills community.  

Darlene was a lover of Chinese food, lemon meringue pie, and a good hot dog, and enjoyed all of these as much as she could.

Darlene was a passionate and loving mother, grandmother, and friend, and she will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her. 

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME  on Saturday March 5th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.  

In lieu of flowers, donations to the MS society would be appreciated By the family.
