Anderson EdwardANDERSON, Edward Lewis Clayton (Lou)  -  January 25, 1927 – May 30, 2022 

Passed away on May 30, 2022 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, Ontario, at the age of 95. 

Lou leaves to mourn his children Edward (Madge) Anderson, Myles (Elise) Anderson, Barbara (Grant) MacGregor and Robert (Toni) Anderson.

Will be sorely missed by his grandchildren Shawn, Ryan, Rory, Katelyn, Randy, James and Brittney.

Will be fondly remembered by his only great grandson, Connor Anderson. 

Survived by his sister Patricia Short. 

Predeceased by Myrtle, his wife of 50+ years, sister Ethel Gibbons and his brother MacKenzie Anderson. 

Lou was born at home at British Harbour, NL to Ida Maude (Brown) and Edmund Anderson.

He married Myrtle Cooper, from Ireland’s Eye, NL on October 30th, 1952 in St. John’s, NL. He worked for the NL Department of Highways as a clerk for 22 years.

Prior to this, he was employed by the US Armed Forces base Stephenville, NL having transferred from the US Armed Forces base Argentia, NL.

He was employed as a civilian in the laundry service department. Myrtle and Lou purchased a plot of land in the community of Stephenville, NL where they built a home and raised their four children.

Lou was very involved in the Anglican Church in Stephenville, NL, both with the choir and serving as a layperson.  After his retirement, Myrtle and Lou moved to Ontario, settling in Bowmanville where they enjoyed many years. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Cedarcroft Retirement Residence for the wonderful care our father received since Feb 2020. 

Visitation will be held at the  COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (905-432-8484) on Wednesday, June 8th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at ST. JOHN’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 11 Temperance Street, Bowmanville on Thursday, June 9th at 10:30 a.m.
