Lappin RodgerLAPPIN, Rodger David   -  November 29, 1938 – August 2, 2022
It is with very heavy hearts we announce that Rodger passed away suddenly on August 2, 2022 in his 84th year.

Wonderful father to Kelly Fallis (Gord) and Jodi Lappin (Shawn), extraordinary and proud papa to Ethan and Maddie.

Loving partner and best friend to Paula Coverly.

And brother-in-law to Betty.

Cherished by extended family Suzie (Chris) Jane (Chris) and their children Ella and James.

Predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Joy Ann, his mother Wilma, father David, brother Gerry, sister Sheila and brother-in-law Ted.

Cherished uncle to David (Sangita), Debbie (Derrick), Curt (Wendy), Jill (Leigh) and his great nephews and nieces.

Rodger was an educator, first as a teacher and then as a principal for over 33 years with the Durham District School Board and made a positive impact on so many of his students and co-workers.

He loved what he did and his passion showed.

Rodger’s love of sports was unprecedented and he still played weekly baseball every Thursday, golfed on Tuesday and don’t try and tell him otherwise.

His sense of humor was like no other and his kindness unparalleled.

We will miss him so very much but know that he has probably already set up a tee time and is looking for some baseball or hockey buddies along the way.

Donations in memory of Rodger can be made to the Jumpstart Program for young athletes or the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation.

A Celebration of Rodger’s Life will be held on Friday August 19th at 1pm in the Chapel at  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm Friday.
