It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our mother, Helen I Roussy, nee Walton, at Regency Manor in Port Hope on August 17th, 2022 after a lengthy illness. She was 84.

She leaves behind her children Lynn Buziak (Brian), Paul (Ann) and Jacquie Stevens (Terry), as well as her long-time partner, Jim Franklin and his daughter Laura.

She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Michelle Buziak (Dean), Chase Palmer-Roussy, Brianna Buziak (Nick) and Jay Palmer-Roussy, as well as her beloved great granddaughter Paisley.

She is survived by sisters-in-law Maxine Walton, Belle Roussy, Pierrette Roussy and brother-in-law Arthur Stein, as well as many nieces and nephews on both the Walton and Roussy sides.

She also leaves behind many loving and caring friends.

Helen was predeceased by her husband Jacques Yves Roussy and her son Michael, as well as her parents Helen (Scanlon) and George Walton of Barrie and her siblings Merene (Jim Reed), Mark (Ann), Matthew (Ivy), Edward, John (Evelyn) Thomas, and Ruth Stein as well as her husband’s family, Salomon Roussy (Claire), Claire Tennier (Arthur) Adrian Roussy and Alberic Roussy.

Helen was a lover of the outdoors, hummingbirds, and all small creatures and was at her happiest sitting outside and feeding the chipmunks.

She was a special nanny to so many little kids and loved throwing parties for them and hosting hers and Jim’s annual May 24th BBQ and fireworks event.

She loved her beloved Barrie and returned for a visit as recently as August 10th as arranged by the Bridges of Dreams program.
