Dormer Rev Dr AllanDORMER, Reverend Dr. Allan Roy Dormer   -  (Soldier, educator, scholar, and servant of Christ)

Passed away peacefully on August 18, 2022, at the age of 87.

Beloved spouse of Beverly Gibson.

Dear brother of Doreen Gomm (Art).

Father of Christine and Roy.

Predeceased by his parents, Henry and Emily Dormer, and by his siblings, Jack Dormer (Louise) and Joan Binkley (Norman).

Allan enjoyed life to the max, with a positive outlook on life.

His relationship with Christ was very important to him and, thus, he did not fear death.

After growing up in Ottawa, Ontario, he attended CMR and RMC and was an officer with the Royal 22nd Regiment, in the Canadian Army, serving time with NATO.  When he left the military in 1961, he became a teacher and taught in Ontario until 1995.

After retirement, Allan and Bev had many travelling adventures.  He also completed his PhD in Biblical Apologetics in 2010.

On being diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer, he received care at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in the Durham Regional Cancer Centre and in C-7.

Plus, he was thankful for the assistance from Veterans Affairs Canada, from Home and Community Care Central-East LHIN, and from Oak Ridges Hospice.

Cremation has taken place.

There will be a memorial service at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa, (905-433-5558) on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., with visitation from 2:00 p.m., until 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Whitby, or to Lakeridge Health Foundation; Cancer Care, would be greatly appreciated.
