It is with the Greatest Sadness that we announced the passing of Jan Hamstra on Monday, September 26, 2022.
Beloved Husband of the Late Mary Elizabeth Skinner.
Loving Dad to Tim, Maribeth (Dean), Kathy (Rodger) Dave, Rose (Bill).
Cherished Grandpa to 9 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Our Dad immigrated from the Netherlands, to Canada at the age of 14, settling in Brooklin, Ontario.
In 1961 he married Diane Pittock and together they raised 5 children.
While Employed at General Motors for 35 years, in his spare time, he built, with his own two hands, a home for his Family.
He was proud of his achievements, and despite some hardships, worked on his home and land to the age of 84.
He was a pillar of our Family and will be greatly missed.
At his request, no services are being held.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
