COWIE, Lois Cowie - February 17, 1931 - October 9, 2022
The family of Lois Madeline Cowie (nee Maude) announces, with heavy hearts, her passing on Sunday, October 9th, 2022, at the age of 91.
Lois was born February 17th, 1931 in Toronto, Ontario to Clifford Wesley Dolby Maude & Evelyn Ethel Grigsby. Beloved sister to the late Jean Evelyn Sokolowski, Florida, USA.
Beloved wife of 44 years to the late Joseph John Albert Cowie (2002).
Loving and devoted mother to Debora Evelyn Cowie, John Wesley (Julie) Cowie and Diane Elizabeth (Pedro) Springer.
A very cherished grandmother of Quinn and Nathaniel.
Much loved aunt to Paul (Nancy) Sokolowski, Florida, USA and great-aunt to Teddy, Evelyn and Sophie of Florida, USA.
Lois spent her life in Toronto prior to marrying Joseph and moving “to the country” in Oshawa.
She was very much a city girl and had the gift of the gab. She always kept in touch by phone or writing letters.
She will be lovingly remembered by numerous friends, as well as cousins, in Canada, USA, England and Northern Ireland.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Lakeridge Health Foundation – Kidney Care Clinic, Heart & Stroke Foundation or Grandview Kids Foundation.
