Weiss KatherineWEISS, Katherine Margaret   -  Katherine Weiss was born March 26, 1961, and died peacefully under the care of Lakeridge Health Oshawa, October 9, 2022.

Also, a most sincere thank you for the wonderful care Katherine received at Fairview Lodge, Whitby.

Katherine is survived by her mother, Lisa Weiss, Oshawa, aunt Lillian Weiss and uncle Bert Weiss, of Peterborough.

A letter to Kathy from her mother:  “Kathy, you were an amazing and beautiful daughter.  When you were a little girl, you immediately loved animals of any kind.

You would bring home all sorts of creatures and nurture them.  Then you grew up and turned into a beautiful young woman.

Weiss John Weiss Ron

John Weiss, Father
March 17, 1935 – May 18, 2022

Ron Weiss, Brother
Jan. 8, 1963 – Sept. 20, 2020

People would simply gravitate to you immediately. Your beauty never mattered to you like it did to other young girls.  While they were busy putting on makeup and dying their hair, you were occupied with living and learning. Just like you cared for stray animals, now you started to care for stray people. You would make soup for the homeless and brought all kinds of them home.

You took Yoga. You excelled and were certified in Tai Chi. You became a massage therapist, even had your own business.  Off you went with that huge fold up massage bed in tow.  You studied religions. You followed the Maharajah.   There were many admirers that followed you around.

All your life you were writing down thoughts and deliberations.

You would write on anything: notepads, napkins, tablecloths, even on your hands. You were a gifted writer.

You were very creative and classic. You always wore classic clothes. You had a style all your own.  You were an accomplished and gifted artist.

You played the violin. You played the piano. You loved to sing, and you needed music like some people need fresh air.

Most of all you had a generous heart. You never lost your humility or generosity of spirit.

You were pretty amazing.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E. Oshawa (905) 433-5558.
