Taylor MelanieTAYLOR, Melanie Marie   -  January 21, 1964 - January 3, 2023

Our emotions are at both ends of the spectrum as we remember the passing of Melanie on January 3rd 2023.

We are sorrowful for family and friends as that next chat on the phone isn’t going to happen.

We rejoice that she is with her Lord, has reunited with her father and brother Morgan who predeceased her.

She leaves her soulmate Mark Harris whom she married in 2016.

They had met at dialysis and have continued to support each other through many health concerns.

Special thanks to Mark’s mom Shirley Harris who provided loving care and a home for her after her marriage.  Her son Ken Taylor has always been the apple of her eye and his fiancée Nickey Armstrong is the daughter she never had.

Melanie joined the Taylor clan in the winter of 64 to great fanfare and delight. She was the daughter of Howard and Alice (Robinson) Taylor.  Siblings Geoff (Jan) Taylor, Morgan (Karen) Taylor, and Connie Lynn welcomed her on a cold January 21st.  Later additions were Gayle (John) Pallotta, Julie (Dave) Moon, and Howie (Jenn) Taylor.  She leaves numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends who spent long hours discussing just about anything under the sun. She loved a good (or bad) joke, and nothing more than whiling away time chatting with friends.  Melanie was known for taking on life in abundance and living it to the fullest.

Ken calls her the best mom anyone could ask for.  Despite her struggles she was always putting others first and tried to bring sunshine to someone’s day.  Her career too was one of service as she was a PSW for many years until her health meant she no could no longer work.  She served her community through the Lions for many years and was appointed treasurer.  Melanie was a member of Churches of Christ in Scarborough and more recently in Oshawa.

She joined the Harris clan with her marriage to Mark and will be missed by brother-in-law Paul (Penny) Harris, and sisters in law Sandra Landry, Sheri (Bruce) Peck, and of course mom Shirley.

For many years her routine was to call her dad and compare notes before the final Jeopardy round.  The way they claimed it, they both nailed it 100% of the time.  She loved poetry, and people, especially kids.  Her warmth will be missed until we meet again in glory.

Cremation has taken place.  Arrangements entrusted with  W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL .

A Memorial Service will be scheduled in future to allow Mark to complete his health treatments.

Donations to the Kidney Foundation are welcome.
