Brown MildredBROWN, Mildred Redden   -  Peacefully passed on Monday January 30th, 2023, in her 98th year.

Beloved wife of Douglas (deceased) for 43 years.

Loving mother of Roger (deceased), Margaret and Tom (Susan).

Dear grandmother to Robert Brown, Tammy Dickinson-McCafferty (Sean McLean), Jeffery Brown (Jae) and Kathleen Brown.

Great grandmother to Alex and Chris McCafferty and the children of Robert.

Dear sister to Ruth Hochleitner (deceased), aunt to Melanie Park (John deceased) and great-aunt to Katrina.

Pre-deceased by her parents Joseph and Annie Burgess.  Mom was born on March 17, 1925 in Oshawa and attended Ritson Public School.

She married Dad in October of 1945, not long after they moved into their forever home on Olive Ave. just in time to welcome her first child, Roger.  Mom was an environmentalist before there was a name for it.  She loved her gardens, her faithful dogs (which she walked daily) and her community.

Mom was a woman who loved yard sales and thrift shops long before it was “cool” to buy second hand.  The later part of her life was a struggle with Alzheimer’s.  This robbed her of the people, places and memories she loved.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to all the exceptional staff of Pleasant Meadow Manor in Norwood for taking care of Mom in her final years.

Family and friends are invited to visit McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Saturday February 4, 2023 from 10 am until time of service at 11 am in the funeral home chapel.

Interment at Mount Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Pleasant Meadow Manor, Norwood, Alzheimer Society of Canada or Lakeridge Health Oshawa – Durham Regional Cancer Centre.
