It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Lyle McHugh who passed away with family by his side at Lakeridge Health Ajax on February 4, 2023 at the age of 89.

Born in Oshawa on August 19th, 1933. Son of the Late Clarence and Iva McHugh.

Bill is pre-deceased by wife Betty McHugh (Ferguson) and survived by daughter Shelley McHugh-Boumans (pre-deceased son-in-law Mark), son (William) Dean McHugh (Tandy), and daughter Karen King (Bill).

Cherished Grandfather of Ashley Stone (Marcus), Matthew Boumans, Connor King and Cassidy King. Bill was pre-deceased by his sister Darlene Bradimore and will be missed by brothers Robert McHugh and Garry McHugh as well as Brother and Sister in laws Don and Bonny Ferguson. Bill will definitely be missed by his furry companions Bart and Poppy and Juicy.

Bill was a proud 40 year employee of GM and EDS who really enjoyed his job. Bill was a member of the Oshawa Obedience Association where he met his wife Betty and they became proud owners of Nepachee Kennels where he held down the fort while she travelled the world judging international dog shows.

The highlights of his years were the times spent at the North Shore Hunt club where he enjoyed many hunting trips with his fellow members. He was a former member of the Oshawa Curling Club and in his retirement joined various card clubs where he played euchre and eventually became Director for Bridge at many of the Oshawa Senior Center locations.

Bill will be missed by his many extended family members and his devoted friends.

The family appreciates all your prayers and kind gestures during this difficult time.

A visitation for William will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario, followed by a memorial service at 1:30 PM in the Chapel.
