VANDERMEER, Auke - It is with peace in our hearts that the Lord took home his faithful child, Auke Vandermeer, on February 19th, 2023 at the age of 89 years.
He is remembered for his hearty laugh, his big infectious smile and his loving bear hugs. He is survived by Corry, his devoted wife of 61 years.
Loving and proud father, Opa and Great Opa of Roxanne (Doug), Gavin (Jenn)-Auke, Meagan (Kyle)- Caleb, Colby and Ellie, Jeff (Sharon)- Tabitha (Jeff), Madison, Marcia (Gerald)- Candice (Matt), Raven, Evelyn, Christopher (Madison), Brittany (Cody), Courtney (Ricky)- Bradley, Michael (Jen)- Matthew and Nolan.
Private interment at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY.
Memorial service at Durham Christian Homes, 100 Glen Hill Dr. South, Whitby, ON on March 4, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Auke to Gate 3:16 Outreach Centre.
