BIRKS,  William Alan Birks   -  Passed away in his home on March 25th, 2023, after courageously battling various illnesses.

In the end it was his big, kind heart that took him.

lan was born March 30th, 1939, in Derbyshire, England to Eva and Cyril Birks.

In 1969 Alan immigrated to Canada with his cherished wife Betty (deceased 2003) and beloved children Debbie and Nigel (Della).

Alan will be missed by his wonderful siblings Geoff (Janet), Janice (late John), Glenda (Mel), and Barbara (John) as well as his many nieces and nephews. Alan loved his grandchildren Danielle (Derrick), Miranda, and Brayden very much.

He was excited to have been a great-grandfather to Lexi and an honorary grandfather to Megan, Jack, Willow, and Odie. Alan spent the last 16 years enjoying life with his beloved partner Sherry.

For over 30 years Alan worked for Transilwrap Canada in the North American plastics industry; without a single sick day he would proudly add. In his retirement Alan enjoyed many artistic hobbies including woodworking, painting, and most recently weaving. Alan also partook in many great rounds of golf with the boys.

Many children and seniors shared their yearly wish list with Alan in his magical portrayal of Santa Claus and Father Christmas. Alan delighted in cooking for his loved ones and his wonderfully strong trifle was always enjoyed by many at Christmas.

He was an upstanding man in many aspects.

Arrangements with McEachnie Funeral  Home.

Alan will be dearly missed by many friends and family here and in England.
