BATES, Richard James Peter Bates - Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry, at age 66.
Son of Helen and the Late James Bates.
Loving Dad of Amanda and Scott Harper of Sunderland, and Jennifer Bates of Oshawa.
Loving grandfather of Lennox and Keegan Bates, and Taylor and Finley Harper. Richard will be greatly missed by Jill Bates, his sisters Marlene Leger, and Debbie Conforti, and his nieces and nephews.
Richard retired from Dupont after a long, dedicated career. He was a kind and caring manager, who genuinely cared about his team.
The Family of Richard Bates will receive friends at the Wagg Funeral Home, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry, on Tuesday April 4, 2023 from 1 – 2 p.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held in the Chapel at 2 p.m. with Reverend Elaine Hall officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
