HIRCOCK, Douglas - Forever remembered for his ever-present smile, hearty laugh, love of movies and genuine kindness.
Passed away peacefully on December 18, 2017 at the age of 79.
Cherished son of the late Albert & Edith (nee Elliott). Beloved husband of Joyce (nee Parker) for 56 years.
Devoted and loving father of Gary (Tammy) and Brian (Kelly). Fun-loving Grandpa of Brandon, Daniel and Mathew. Adored brother of Lloyd (Pat) and Bob (Marcia).
Doug will be dearly missed by his extended family, and his many dear friends.
Doug’s vocation and many years of service at Sears Canada was second only to his passion for policing with the Ontario Provincial Police. His dedication to both will not be forgotten.
A special thank-you to Lakeridge Health Oshawa and Sunnybrook Hospital Toronto for their truly kind and outstanding service.
Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, Oshawa, Doug requested no service, however the family will have a private celebration of Doug’s wonderful life in the near future.
Interment at Mount Lawn Cemetery Oshawa.
Donations are gratefully accepted to the R.S. McLaughlin Cancer Centre.
