Weber AndreasWEBER, Andreas “Andy”  - Our father left us on January 14, 2018 to begin his next chapter with our mom, his beloved Hannelore, his soulmate and best friend for 60 years.

Forever in the hearts of his children Sue (Stephen) MacNeil, Marianne (Gary) Wilson, Barb (Mike) Needham, Margaret (Brent) Rochon, Mike Weber (Kerri Underwood) and the late Andy.

CherishedOpa to Kristen (Ryan), Scott (Sue), Austin, Ally (Matt), Jessica, Garett, Lauren, Julia, Mariah, Aidan, Sarah, Alex, Abigail, Emily and his first great grandchild, Zoe.

Born in Senereus, Romania to the late Katrina Kappas and Andreas Weber.

Andy immigrated to Canada at the age of 18 years, after having fled Romania during the war. He knew the true gifts of life, he took great pride in his family and their achievements. He will be fondly remembered as “a master story teller”, the maker of his “Opa Toast” and “a champion blueberry picker”.

The family wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to the residents at McLaughlin Square for taking the time to listen and be there for him and to the caring staff of the Emergency Department and Supportive Care at Lakeridge Health – Oshawa.

Visitation will be held at the DESTEFANO FUNERAL HOME, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport) 905-440-3595 on Thursday, January 18th from 7:00-9:00pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 540 Cromwell Avenue, Oshawa on Friday, January 20th at 11:00am. A private family interment will follow.

In memory of Andy, donations may be made to Lakeridge Health Oshawa-Supportive Care or to the Lutheran World Relief.

As quoted by his friend Steve,“he had a wonderful life for 60 years until his wife died. Then he coped because of his children. He died of a broken heart”.
