Surrounded by his loving family, he passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on February 21st, 2018 in his 88th year.
Beloved husband of Mary for 63 years. Loving father of Bernice (Alan) Hogan, Michael MacDonald (Maureen Whaley), Ann Marie MacDonald, Margaret Rohmann (Udo), Jo-Anne MacDonald, Bernie MacDonald (Natalie O’Rourke) and John MacDonald (Kim Mai-MacDonald).
Cherished Pops of Sean, Evan, Maeve, Aedan, Taylor, Udo, Tess, Claire, Alexandre, Quinn, Reid, Emma and Kate. Dear brother of Irene LaFort, Catherine MacLellan and Gloria Youden. Dear brother in law of Cecelia Grace, California. As well as numerous nieces and nephews far and wide. Bernie was predeceased by his parents James & Sarah MacDonald (nee MacNeil), and siblings Marie Walsh, John MacDonald, Margaret Paruch, Norman MacDonald and Refina MacNeil.
Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street North, Bowmanville, Ontario on Sunday February 25th, 2018 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. THERESE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3800 Courtice Rd, on Monday February 26th at 11 am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Daughters of St. Mary of Leuca - St. Therese Catholic Church.
