TEMPLAR, Eleanor - It is with heavy hearts we announce that Eleanor Templar (nee Hinds), lovingly referred to as “Darlin’” by her great-grandchildren, passed away on February 28, 2018.

Eleanor is predeceased by her daughter Anne (Scot), her brother Ted (Eve) and husband Ron.

She is survived by her daughter Lynn (Paul), granddaughters Amanda (Andrew), Natasha (Garrett), Amy (Jay), Maggie (Griffen) and her 5 great-grandchildren.

Eleanor was a top-notch Bridge partner and lifelong best friend to Ruth Wilkins, much loved neighbour to Carol and Wayne Norris, active community volunteer and kept weekly lunch dates with her co-workers even after retiring from her career at the Oshawa PUC 20 years ago.

She cherished her special friendships, of which she was lucky to have many.

She was a devoted wife and mother and the kind of grandmother who would happily crawl underneath the kitchen table to play with her grandkids when they asked her. She was adored by her great-grandchildren just as much as they were by her.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Saturday, March 3rd from 1:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment Thornton Cemetery.

Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted to Hearth Place or  CHARITY  of Choice.

Online condolences may be made at oshawafuneralhome.
