Born in Buchans Newfoundland on January 27th, 1943 and raised in Winterton Newfoundland to Harold and Laura (Pelley) Downey.

At the young age of 16, he joined the Royal Bank of Canada in Heart’s Content, Newfoundland and had 40 years of service with them. His career took him from Newfoundland to Nova Scotia, back to Newfoundland, back to Nova Scotia, then onto to Montreal and finally Toronto.

Second of four children to Gordon and Florence Orr, Stan got a taste of travel and adventure in the 4H Club of Binscarth, Manitoba.

After joining the Royal Bank in 1954, he made his way to Owen Sound, Ontario and found the Joy of his life. Together, they collected lifelong friends throughout Southern Ontario, settling in Burlington, where Stan retired in 1992 as an Area Manager.

Brooks BillBROOKS, William George 'Bill' - Bill passed away on August 14, 2019, at the age of 88.

He was devoted to his wife of 64 years, Joyce (nee Fletcher). Bill will be missed by Joyce, their sons, Stephen (Debbie), Scott (Nadine) and his granddaughters Robin, Patti, Carley and Morgan. 

He was born in Hamilton to George and Isabelle Brooks. Bill grew up helping his father at the Brookfield Dairy, and every summer at Brooks Landing Resort in Parry Sound. Bill loved to sing and as a youngster had his own radio show, “Sing Along with Billy Brooks." He was a Delta graduate, played football for McMaster and competed on the Canadian Championship Water Polo team.
