Bryant JamesBRYANT, James Clifton Arthur   -  James Clifton Arthur Bryant, known to all as Cliff, 71, passed away at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, on May 31, 2023.

Born on September 4, 1951, in Montreal, Cliff travelled extensively and lived in Brussels, Saudi Arabia and, of course, Canada.

From his pickled kitchen snake and coin-filled bloodhound bank that guarded the top of his Pickering home's stairs, to his ultra-locally famous sandwiches and accidental turtle collection, Cliff leaves us with countless fond and colourful memories.

A lifelong mischief maker, and lover of classic rock, Cliff would lean his electric guitar near his amplifier so the strings would vibrate, and then sneak out to do whatever teenagers did in the '60s.

Despite his career in tech, Cliff never traded in his flip phone for a device from this century. He did, however, buy his little sister her first desktop computer in the '80s, which she used exclusively to play Zork.

To the delight of his much-loved great-uncle Percy, he would drive the Red Dragon (his red Honda Civic) like stink through the narrow lanes of Wick – a talent he likely picked up from racing the other altar boys from the church to the airport and back. Cliff is survived by his partner of many years, Lori Jankowski; her children, Adam, Kyle, Nicole and Michael; his sister, Patricia Quong (Dennis); niece, Claire; uncle, Robert Bryant (Leona); great-aunt, Doris Bryant (UK); and many cousins.

Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Emerita (nee Raymond) Bryant; great-uncle, Percy Bryant (UK); and many aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9th, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent St., Barrie), with a service in the chapel on Saturday, June 10th, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, crank some Santana, dance a little, and consider donating to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
