BAMFORD, James (Jim) Arthur   -   1942 - 2022  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim on Monday, June 6th, with his wife and children by his side.

Born to the late Madge and Howard Bamford on April 9, 1942 in Toronto, Ontario.

Jim grew up in Leaside, the third generation to look after the family business, "Bamford's Produce Company" in Toronto, Ontario.

Tonin RinaldoTONIN, Rinaldo   -  Passed away peacefully in Montreal on June 6, 2022.

Born in Teglio Veneto (Italy), Rinaldo immigrated to Toronto in 1956 at age 24, where he worked as a marble and terrazzo setter, and built a wonderful life alongside his beloved wife, the late Anita, and dear family and friends.

Father of Patrizia (Gregory); Nonno of Natascia; brother of the late Tomasso (Maria); brother-in-law of Luciano (Carla) and of the late Erica (the late Giovanni); and Zio of Donatella (Frank), Vania (Ian) and Sabrina.

We thank Dr. Michael Sebag, Royal Victoria Hospital (MUHC), and health care and staff at CHLSD Vigi Reine Elizabeth and Herron for their care.

Brandy SheilaBRANDY, Sheila P.   -   Sheila Brandy, the strong, vibrant, and outgoing, wife, mother, and business owner, died on June 5, 2022, in Toronto.

She was 85.

Sheila was born in Orillia, Ontario, where she met the man of her dreams, Stuart C. Brandy.

They were married in 1955 and began a wonderful 56-year journey together.

For 18 years, Sheila was the owner and proprietor of The Crockery Barn – a well-known kitchen and housewares store located on Yonge Street.

Sheila is survived by her three children, their spouses and her four grandchildren.

SANDERS, Shirley Margaret(nee WYMAN)    -  August 9, 1922 – June 5, 2022

Shirley grew up in Ottawa and spent most of her adult life in Toronto, and was a sometime resident of the UK and the Bahamas.

Weber MarilynWEBER, Marilyn Ann   -  April 23, 1940 – June 4, 2022

In Loving Memory Marilyn Weber (née Connor) passed away peacefully, on June 4, 2022, at Sunnybrook Hospital, after a short battle with cancer.

She is reunited with her husband, Edward Weber (deceased October 1966); parents, Ralph and Margery Connor; aunt, Elsie Fanner; uncle, Edwin Fanner; and in-laws, Peter and Aino Weber.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Dave, and daughter-in-law, Diane.

She will be dearly remembered by her grandchildren, Jackson and Carsyn. Marilyn enjoyed her independence, books, wine, and her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.

Her pleasant demeanor will be dearly missed by all who knew her. 

Kuryliw IhorKURYLIW, Ihor  -   November 14, 1939 – June 4, 2022

Ihor passed away peacefully, after a tenacious 4-year battle with cancer.

He was deeply loved by, and will be missed by his wife of 52 years, Valentina (Mychajloswka), son Peter (Melissa Russell), daughter Ulyana (Daniel Kuzmycz) and granddaughter Nina, as well as his sisters Sonia and Oksana (John Leeson) and his sister-in-law Lydia (Daniel Huzyk).

Ihor was born and raised in Sudbury and taught History and Music at Lasalle Secondary School.

He was a talented musician who played the violin, bandura, alto horn and piano.

He moved to Toronto in 1973 and became a partner in Bloor Travel Agency where his extensive travels and his empathy proved to be invaluable assets.

DERBYSHIRE, Shirley Isobel (nee AGAR)   - August 19, 1929 - Vaughan, Ontario June 4, 2022 - Calgary.

Alberta Shirley Derbyshire, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the age of 92 years.

DeSousa DelfinaDeSOUSA, Delfina   -  With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Delfina DeSousa on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the age of 84.

Loving wife of the late Jaime.

Delfina will be greatly missed by her children Olga (Bert), Helen (predeceased) and her son Denis.

Proud grandmother to Chantal, Matthew (Kimberly), and Michael and great-grandmother to Maya.

Loving sister to Zaltina (predeceased), Eduardo (predeceased), Jose (predeceased), and Manuel, Theresa and Paul.

Kunov HansKUNOV, Hans  -  P.Eng., Professor Emeritus -  March 14, 1938 – June 4, 2022

Hans Kunov died peacefully, at home, in Toronto using MAiD, having had a full and wonderful life.

He is survived by his wife, Clare Lamb; his sons, Mads (Marie) and Niels (Daniella); and their mother, Helle; as well as his five beloved grandchildren; and his sister, Else.

In 1967, Hans accepted a professorship at the University of Toronto Institute of Biomedical Engineering, and moved from Denmark to Canada.

He spent the rest of his career teaching and researching at the Institute, heading it from 1989 to 1999.

Hans retired in 2003, but continued to teach and mentor engineering students.

McRobert SarahMcROBERT, Sarah Jac (Jackie) Alene   -  Passed away at Trillium Health Partners, Humber Reactivation Centre, on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the age of 90.

Beloved wife of the late James (2015).

Loving mother of Rick (Dianne), Sally Coulas (Peter), and Jim (Crystal).

Cherished Grandma of Lain, Daniel, Andrew, and Aiden.

Usher JacquelineUSHER, Jacqueline Valerie   -  Passed away at the Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital, on June 4, 2022.

Jackie Usher (Padbury) was in her 86th year.

Beloved wife of George, married for 66 years.

Dear mother of: Norah Jean Mitchell (Ken), Karon Penny Stadler (Len), and Richard George Usher (Kim).

Lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren: Tyler, Jennifer, Jacqueline, Brent, Chad, Justin, Kevin, Mitchell, Reid; and fondly remember by her nine great-grandchildren.

Vanstone JonathanNSTONE, Jonathan Victor   -  Born June 6, 1959 in Durban, South Africa. Died June 3, 2022 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Jon is survived by his wife of 24 years, Nancy (née Verza), his siblings, Brenda (Marc Sabourin), Roderick (Birgitt) and Kirsten (Michael Boadway), nephews and nieces, Nicholas (Kayla Favaro), Kayla (Tim Spence) and Michael Vanstone, Christian and Arielle Sabourin, Peter and Julia Boadway, his uncle, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents James Ray Vanstone and Ann Laurel Vanstone (née Hutt).

Jon grew up in Toronto and lived for a short time in Australia as a child.

He was a Junior Ranger and travelled across Canada on family road trips and with Katimavik.

These experiences were the source of stories, a love of cherry pie and sharp Euchre skills. Jon loved driving his many beloved cars to places like Florida, Haliburton or Cherry Beach.

Biasucci DinoBIASUCCI, Dino   -  January 15, 1931 - June 2, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dino, on June 2, 2022, at the age of 91.

He will be forever missed by Alice, his loving wife of 65 years.

Cherished by his dear children Lucio and Paolo (Patrizia).

Proud Nonno to Sebastian, Alyssa and Stefan. Dino will always be remembered by his brothers and sisters, Maria (deceased), Lina, Bruna (Bruno), Elsa (Gino), Irma, Bruno (Caterina), Giovanni, Pio (Eralda) and Natalina (Adriano).

He was a charismatic individual, a hard worker and a dedicated family man.

Ulrick MonaULRICK, Mona Isabel   -  1934 - 2022  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mona Isabel Ulrick, 87, of Etobicoke, on June 2, 2022, with family by her side.

Born to the late Graham and Isabel Warner, on August 22, 1934, in Powassan, Ontario, Mona spent her younger years here and graduated from Powassan District High School in 1953.

She continued her education in Sudbury at St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and graduated with her Nursing Degree in 1956, thereafter working at the St. Joseph's Hospital in North Bay.

Mona married Bernard Ulrick, on May 11, 1957 and moved to Sault Ste. Marie, where their family began.

Four sons later, they relocated to Mississauga and then lastly to Etobicoke.

BENT, Carol Ann (nee GARRETT)   -  January 23, 1942 - June 2, 2022

Our beloved Carol Ann Garrett Bent, passed away on June 2nd, from cancer, at the age of 80.

Born in Cottam, Essex County, to Evelyn (Ross) Garrett and Willard Robert Garrett (both predeceased) and married David Bent (predeceased) in 1969.

Denison WilliamDENISON, William Albert   -  (Retired Florist) Co-owner of Neal's Flowers and Neal's Fashion in Flowers Bill's life journey ended on June 1, 2022, at the age of 94.

He enjoyed a wonderful life until the last few years when failing health became a challenge.

Bill is survived by his spouse Ronald "Ron" Beben of 47 years.

He is the youngest son of the late Alice and Leslie Denison. Predeceased by his siblings Charlie, Elizabeth, Fred, Jane, and Margaret. Survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Bill is especially remembered by Burke Denison (Mary) and their sons Jed, Chuck, Eric and his namesake Bill, and families; John (Laurie) Jeffrey and family; also the Beben family – Caroll Beben, Deborah Grier (David), Laura Feehan (Jamie), Alyson Beben (Derrick), Nicole Beben (Ian) and families.

Bialo DavidBIALO, David   - With great sadness we announce the passing of David Bialo.

He died, surrounded by family, after a brief battle with cancer.

He is survived by wife, Carol, along with children, Scott (Jordanna), Krista (Jason), and Devin (Teresa), and six grandchildren.

He worked at BMO for 32 years. He was an avid golfer, bridge player, and pun-maker, and loved spending time with his grandkids.

He was beloved and an inspiration to many.

LEGGE, Mary Carolyn (nee MacTAGGART), M.Mus.   -  1933 – 2022   Predeceased by her brothers, Donald, Thomas and Gerald; former wife of the late C.F. David Legge.

Born and raised in Muskoka, Mary spent her adult life in Toronto, where she taught school for over 35 years.

CASSIDY, Keith   -  July 11, 1931 - June 1, 2022

Surrounded by his three children, Keith passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, June 1st, after a brief illness.

Predeceased by wife, Wilma (nee James), Keith leaves behind his three children: Kevin (Pat), Sharon (Mike) and Blake (Fiona); and seven adored grandchildren: Erin, Shayne, Cassidy, Parker, Delaney, Piers and Airlie.

Saxton CharleneSAXTON, Charlene June  -  June passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 1, 2022, at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, in her 92nd year.

Predeceased by her brother, Charles James (Bud) West, she will be deeply missed by her children, Kathy (Peter), Paul (Jan) and Robin (Peter); her six grandchildren, Martha, Sean, Jeremy, Tori, Alexa and Wesley; and her dearest companion of the last 31 years, Barbara Dubrule.

Born in Toronto, June attended York Memorial Collegiate Institute, and upon graduation entered the Registered Nursing Training program at Toronto General Hospital, where she met many of her lifelong friends and began her career as a nurse.

Massicotte JosephMASSICOTTE, Joseph (Gerry)   -  With sadness, we announce Gerry's passing, at 99, on June 1, 2022.

Beloved husband of his late wife, Dorothy (nee Roberts).

Leading up to his passing, he was surrounded by family and caregivers.

Cherished father of 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

He will be equally missed by extended family, neighbours, and friends.

Remembered for his dedication to family, willingness to help others, active involvement in Japanese Bunka, volunteering at church, and an eternally optimistic attitude despite hardships.


Bojeczko DmytroBOJECZKO, Dmytro   -  In the presence of loving family in the final hours of his life, he passed away peacefully, in the evening of May 31, 2022.

Survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Raisa, their sons (and their wives), Michael (Sandie), Stefan (Mirka), and Jimmy (Diana), he left this world with the assurance from his family that he had done many good things and made the world a better place.

Born in Hermakivka, Ukraine, in 1925 to modest beginnings, his world was disrupted by the war, following which he found himself in a displaced persons camp in Germany, where he met the love of his life, Raisa.

They moved to England and finally Canada, where they raised their family.

He operated his business, Skyway Electric, in Hamilton until age 90 and was active in various charitable causes and Ukrainian organizations including The Ukrainian National Federation.

STEWART, Christina Duff   -  1926 – 2022 Beloved daughter of the late James Duff and Matilda Forbes Harron Stewart (nee Grant); and sister of the late Donald Grant Stewart.

Loving sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt of Sylvia, Ian, Elvira, John and Simon.

Alton NormaALTON, Norma (nee FLINTOFF)   -  She lived an engaged life.  The youngest child born to Lillian and Ernest Flintoff, Norma was predeceased by brothers Frances and Archie.

She attended Normal School at the University of Alberta to become a teacher.

In the 1950s, Norma married a local boy Charles Alton, and they began their life together in the Fort Saskatchewan area.

They started their family in Edmonton with Greg and Sandra.

Work eventually took them east to Ontario and in retirement, they moved back west to the sunny Okanagan.

Norma was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

POLLOCK, William "Bill" James  -   September 22, 1939 - May 31, 2022

William James Pollock, aged 82, longtime Scarborough resident, passed away surrounded by family, at Oshawa Lakeridge, due to pneumonia and complications from Covid he acquired in hospital.

He will be greatly missed by Pamela, his loving wife of 56 years; his daughters, Irene, Fiona (Keith); and grandchildren, Callum (Morgan), and Elena.

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother Maria Greco (nee Bruno) on May 30, 2022.

Beloved wife of the late Luigi Greco (November 7, 2004).

Loving mother to Domenico and Rita.

She will be missed by her many family and friends, along with her sisters, and brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces and relatives in Italy and the USA.
