Fitzgerald Fr WilliamFITZGERALD, Fr. William E. Bill, C.Ss.R.,  -  Fr. Bill Fitzgerald entered eternal life on November 1, 2022, at the age of 84 at Toronto Western Hospital.

Born on August 26, 1938 in the Port City of Saint John, NB, to Edmund Alphonsus and Helen Margaret Fitzgerald (née Corkery).

Fr. Bill is survived by his brother, Paul (Carole). His twin brother, Richard Joseph (Peggy), died in February, 2019. Fr. Bill is also mourned by his niece, great-niece, his nephews, great-nephews, and cousins.

Fr. Bill professed first vows as a Redemptorist on August 22, 1958 and was ordained a Priest on August 29, 1964 at his home parish of St. Peter's, in Saint John.

After seminary studies, Fr. Bill was a hospital chaplain in Toronto for a few months before returning to St. Mary's College.

During those years, he was director of students, a professor of history and math, and coach of all the sports teams.

GALEA, Mary  -  Peacefully, on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at St. Joseph's Health Centre, at the age of 98.

Beloved wife of the late Anthony.

Devoted mother of Carm (Sharon), Laura Ford (Dennis), Michael (Susan) and the late Joyce (Carl Kennedy).

Adored grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of twenty.

MILLS, John Marston   -  John died peacefully at Michael Garron Hospital, on November 1, 2022.

John was predeceased by his parents, Dr. W. R. Mills and Marjorie Marston.

He is survived by his brother, Gordon and family.

MILNE, Sheila   -  Sheila passed away at Mount Sinai hospital in Toronto, on Tuesday, November 1st, aged 85, with her niece, Carrie, by her side.

She was predeceased by her parents; her nephew, Russell; her beloved husband, Frederick Milne; and her sister, Sandra Dawson. Sheila was a dynamic and creative teacher.

Anderson JamesANDERSON, James Albert  -  It is with great sadness that the family of Jim Anderson, announces his passing, on October 31, 2022.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 25 years, Elena; and his children, Robin, Sheri, Beatriz (Jorge), Norma (Emilio), and Luis (Maru).

Jim (Papa) will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Spencer, Ashley, Gillian, Harrison, Normita, Daniela, Jorge, Mauricio, Patricio, Miquel, Maru; and great-grandchildren, Hayden, and Abby.

Jim was predeceased by his wife, Merlene; and daughter, Kim.

HAMER, Brenda Mary   - 1931 - 2022 Brenda passed away peacefully, on October 31, 2022, at Meighen Manor, Salvation Army Long Term Care Home, in Toronto, at the age of 91.

Born in England, she came to Canada in 1959, spending most of her working career with the Fasken law firm, in Toronto.

Rigg JenniferRIGG, Jennifer (nee DICKIE) Rigg   - Jennifer, a poet, author and beloved wife, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully in Toronto on October 30, 2022.

Born in Belgaum, India on March 4, 1939, and schooled in India, Singapore, York, and St. Andrews, she was a woman of immense depth and latitude.

These qualities were enhanced by meeting the (later renowned) medievalist, Professor George Rigg, in Oxford, with whom she had a whirlwind romance spanning more than 50 years until his death in 2019.

They moved to Canada in 1968 when George took a professorship at the University of Toronto. Jennifer went on to publish four novels and author numerous articles of verse.

Pauk StevePAUK, Steve Michael   -  It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Steve Michael Pauk on October 29, 2022, taken from us too soon, at age 69.

Loving husband of Petra; beloved son-in-law to Elke and John; beloved brother-in-law to Roland (Andrea); loving father of Kevin (Laura) and Steven (Ceri); loving grandad to Briony, Lily, Elijah.

Loving brother to Louise, Janet (Doug), Ed (Lois).

He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Steve worked at the City of Toronto (Water Plant) for 27 years as a Instrumentation Technician.

Steve's happiest times were spent with family and friends, enjoying good food. Steve loved playing his Stratocaster and Les Paul guitars.


Szewczyk JudithSZEWCZYK, Judith (Judy) Alice (nee HARRISON)   -  Passed away on the evening of Saturday, October 29, 2022.

Daughter of the late Marie and Charles Harrison, Judy is survived by her husband, Frank; by her sons, Andrew (D'Loraine) and Michael (France); and her siblings, Mary Lee, Carol (Gord), Richard (Karen), Greg (Jan), Lynn (late Neil), Gerry (Teresa) and Brian (Linda).

Judy, a math teacher at East York Collegiate Institute, embodied patience, care and compassion, and would generously give her time to those who needed it.

Judy touched the lives of everyone with her unwavering love and support, and will continue being an inspiration to those who knew her. She will be dearly missed.

Ackland BeverleyACKLAND, Beverley Jane (nee DAVIES)   -  Beverley passed away on October 29, 2022, in her 84th year, after a long struggle with cancer.

A Toronto girl her entire life, she was the eldest daughter of Gordon "Taffy" and Edith Davies, and sister to Dianne (Don) Curtis and Norma (Chuck) Gregg.

Mother to Gary (Julia) and Susan; grandmother extraordinaire to William (Katie), Benjamin (Meyessa), Alexandra, Courtney and Jeffrey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graduate of Leaside High, and a world traveller who visited all seven continents, she was always generous with her time and charity.

Beverley was full of energy, the queen of her condo's exercise classes.

She was always willing to make new friends or help anyone in need.

Holmes MargaretHOLMES, Margaret   -  It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Holmes announces her passing on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

Margaret was beloved sister to David Holmes (Lynda) and the late Ann Falls (Bruce).

She was a wonderful Aunt to Kathryn (Roy), Stephen (Jill) and Robert Falls, and John and Jeffery (Dianne) Holmes; and kind great-aunt to Alison and James Colalillo, and Daniel Holmes.

She will also be remembered by many cousins.

Margaret passed peacefully after a short illness.

Margaret was an early graduate of the Home Economics Program at the University College, University of Toronto.

She went on to teach Home Economics in Niagara Falls and Port Credit.

COREY, Paul   -   January 3, 1941 - October 29, 2022

Paul's big, beautiful heart stopped beating on Saturday night, leaving us to marvel how he lived life fully up to the last minute.

His wife, Mary, is missing her daily "have I told you lately."

Julie, Jenny and Brennan had the best dad ever.

Goodman IreneGOODMAN, Irene (nee DENISCHUK)   -   September 14, 1949 - October 28, 2022

Passed away peacefully, on October 28, 2022, at Kensington Hospice, Toronto, at the age of 73.

She was born in Toronto, and resided there throughout her life.

Irene was predeceased by her loving partner, Walter; parents, Nick and Stella; and her brother, Rudy.

She attended Central High School of Commerce, and started out as a legal secretary for the first store-front law office in Toronto.

A few years later, she obtained her real esate license and started working with A.E. LePage.

Constantinou SophieCONSTANTINOU, Sophie    -  God called Sophie peacefully, on October 28, 2022, at the age of 96.

Predeceased by her parents and her brothers.

Cherished wife of Pando for 69 years.

Proud mother of Peter (Lucia Cascioli) and Kathy (Randy Kirton).

Dear grandmother to Alexia, Kelly, Mark, and Mitchel.

Sophie is fondly remembered for her love of family, for her faith, and for her spanakopita.

BENSON, June Lois   -  Passed away peacefully, on October 28, 2022, at the age of 92.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gary.

She was cherished and loved by her 4 children; Rick, Ralph, Randy, and Julie; her 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

McColm MarionMcCOLM, Marion   - July 10, 1934 - October 28, 2022

Marion was born in Bromley, U.K., and studied nursing before moving to Canada in the late 1960s, where she continued nursing before finishing in the health care profession.

She was predeceased by her father, Alfred (1954); her mother, Marion (1979); her best friend and partner, Jean Drennan (1994); and more recently by her brother, Haimish.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Pauline McColm; and others in the U.K. and Canada.

Marion loved flowers, enjoyed world traveling and meeting new friends, and looked forward to an occasional glass of wine with dinner.

RAND, Aasa (nee VOKSEPP)   -  Passed away peacefully, in her 91st year, with her daughter and granddaughter by her side, on October 28, 2022.

Predeceased by her husband, Kaljo; survived by her daughter, Margaret (John Maize); grandchildren, Laura (Daniel) and John (Tamara); and great-grandson, Jonah.

Cooper DorothyCOOPER, Dorothy   -  In her 91st year, peacefully, at home, on October 28, 2022.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Jean Cooper and James Cooper.

Predeceased by her son, Joseph Patrick Cooper.

She will be missed by her two grandchildren, Liam and Marc; her sister, Margaret Schuler; as well as her nephew, Andrew, and his family.

Dorothy lived life to its fullest.

Her compassion, sense of humour and wisdom will be missed by all.

Lowe ArthurLOWE, Arthur Dacosta Lowe   -  Passed away peacefully on October 28, 2022, just weeks after his 98th birthday.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred; and siblings, Courtney, Ruby, Iris and Violet.

He is survived by brother, Vince (Monica); sisters Joyce and Jackie; sons, Darren (Maari) and David (Jacqui); grandchildren, Hayley, Maya, Nolan and Peyton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Art was best known for his infectious smile and his warm greetings, frequently from his seat on his porch.

Even as his memory faded, his social skills remained and he continued to make you feel as if he knew you were important to him. He could best be described as a proud and meticulous man.

MOGAVERO, William   -  Passed October 27, 2022, at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre.

Bill was a proud Korean War veteran.

He is remembered and will be missed by his large family including his 5 sons, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Wright ElaineWRIGHT, Elaine    -  February 7, 1947 – October 27, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce Elaine Diane Wright (nee Clark), aged 75 years, peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022.

Elaine was born in Quebec and spent her school years at schools for the deaf in Saskatoon, SK, and Belleville, ON.

She did not let her disability prevent her from enjoying her life.

She worked for over 25 years at Hymopack, Ltd., where she met many lifelong friends.

She loved fishing, puzzles, getting together with her "deafies" and being with family.

BIRT, Anne  -   April 3, 1933 - October 27, 2022

On October 27, 2022, Anne Weymouth Birt passed away at home, from complications of recurrent breast cancer at the age of 89.

Anne was, in turn, a daughter, sister, student, friend, doctor, wife, aunt, mother, and grandmother.

HUGHES, Janet Kathleen   -  1962-2022  It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Janet Kathleen Hughes.

Janet passed away peacefully, on the evening of October 16th, at the age of 60.

Janet will be remembered for her spunk, humour and ability to welcome people into her world.

It is with love and sadness that we celebrate the life and legacy of Boyd Pelley.

Boyd passed away peacefully, in his beloved home province of Newfoundland (St. John's), among his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Minnie and Alfred; his brothers, Gerald and Derek; and sisters, Vera and Shirley.

He is survived by his sister, Kay; sister-in-law, Jeanette; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

With good humour, a curious mind, an appreciation of the French language, his interest in other cultures and an ability to make and cherish friends, he lived a fulfilling life.
