Jurjans AijaJURJANS, Aija - (January 3, 1951August 29, 2018) - Died suddenly on August 29, 2018.

Aija was born in Tubingen, Germany, grew up in London, Ontario, and lived afterwards in Toronto.

Aija suffered from mental illness, beginning in her teens, but battled heroically against it. She was a cheerful, kind, generous, devout person who took a special interest in children with disabilities, the disadvantaged, and environmental causes. She was always doing her art and writing poetry, and was a graduate of the Ontario College of Art.

She leaves a son Benjamin, husband Henry Frania, sister Rita, brothers Martin, Juris, Maris, and Paul, and eight nieces and nephews, the direct ones being Skye, Dawn, Sandra, Marika, Martin, Katrina, Dagan and Maija.

In her last years she organized many of the family doings. She shall be much missed.

Visitation will be at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne St, Toronto, this Friday, September 7, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral service will take place at Trinity-St. Paul’s United Church, 427 Bloor St. West, on Sunday, September 9 at 3 PM, followed by a reception in the Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to CAMH, Bloorview Childrens Hospital, or other organizations dear to her.
