OWENS, D. Jean - November 3, 1921 - August 29, 2018
Jean passed away peacefully at Winston Park Retirement Home on August 29, 2018 in her 97th year with her loving family nearby.
Beloved wife of Sid Owens (predeceased in 1977), dear Mum to John (Allan), David (Heather), Andrew (Pat), Rob (Annette), Rick (Barb) and Mary (Scott).
Grandma to Rhonda, Carol, Mark, Dan, Scott, Jenny, Crystee, Rob, Ryan, Ayla, Cody, Joanna, Katie, Tamara, Adam, Trinity and Rachel. Great grandmother to Parker, Connor, Koda, Keyan, Patricia and Cayson. Jean was the matriarch of her family, providing stability for her family and comfort to all who knew her.
Jean will be missed by her many friends in Alliston where she lived for almost 48 years as a valued member of St. John's United Church and as Town Librarian for many years. She will also be missed by her many new friends in Waterloo and Kitchener where she has been living over the last 10 years. very special thank you for the care and the warmth of the staff and caregivers at both Luther Village in Waterloo and at Winston Park in Kitchener.
Visitation will be held at the W. John Thomas Funeral Home, 244 Victoria St. E., Alliston from 7 - 9 p.m. on Friday, September 28th.
A memorial service will be held at St. John's United Church, 56 Victoria St. E., Alliston at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 29th followed by a reception in the Church Hall.
