NOONAN, James William (Bill) - Of Washington, DC, formerly of Toronto, died peacefully after a short illness on July 23, 2018 at the age of 84.
Bill is survived by his dear wife of 59 years, Suzanne (nee Murray), his four children and their spouses Elizabeth Sobrino (Ray), Jim Noonan (Chrys Bullard), Nancy Powell (Chris) and Michael Noonan (Diane Franchi).
He also leaves his seven "lovely girls", granddaughters Jessica, Alex and Trisha Sobrino, Anna Sumner Noonan, Maddie, Fiona and Claire Powell. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Dr. William T. Noonan and Mary Helen Johnstone, also his sister Sally Mae Forgie.
Educated in Toronto at St. Michael's High School and the University of St. Michael's College, Bill joined American Airlines in 1958. During his long career, spanning 36 years and 3 countries, he earned national and international recognition and respect. Regarded by his friends and family as the quintessential gentleman, Bill will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 12th, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 78 Clifton Road, Toronto M4T 2G2. Family will receive from 9:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Michael's Hospital Foundation, 30 Bond Street, Toronto M5B 1W8, or to the charity of your choice.
