Henry VereonicaHENRY, Veronica Agnes- A long-time resident of Toronto, Canada and Antigua, W.I., died on Friday, May 10, 2019 at North York General Hospital.

Born 19th June, 1940 in Otters St John’s Antigua, Agnes moved from Antigua to the UK in 1963 after an early teaching career.

She was married to her husband Mclee in Leicester, England in 1966, had her children there and subsequently moved to Toronto in 1973.

Agnes received her Medical Technician education from the Toronto Institute of Medical Technology (Michener Institute) and became a member of the Ontario Society of Medical Technology.

Agnes started her career in healthcare at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto where she worked in the medical laboratory from 1973 to the late 1980s. Her tenure there was a reflection of her caring nature as she worked alongside staff to ensure all patients were treated with kindness and respect.

She later took on the challenge of supporting the family business when she joined her husband to operate Woburn and Vaughan Rd pharmacies and continue supporting the health and welfare of the community until her retirement.

Agnes was a devout woman of faith who grew up in the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Antigua. She was a member of the Wesleyan Holiness Church in England and upon arriving in Toronto she became a member of Oakwood Wesleyan and subsequently Wesley Chapel Free Methodist.

She loved good food, laughter, tennis, cricket and socializing with loved ones. She was a strong supportive pillar for her immediate and extended family and she had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.

She is survived by her husband Mclee, son Andre, daughter Kery and son-in law Michael, son Joe, daughter Genevieve, and grandkids, Wesley, Denzel and Giselle all of whom live in Toronto and brought great joy to her later years.

Visitation will be held at Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough on May 24th from 2:00 PM - 04:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 09:00 PM and again on May 25th from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. The service will take place at Wesley Chapel, 2385 Warden Avenue, Scarborough on May 25th at 10:00 AM.
