MARICONDA, Irene Lucia Palma - Passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019.

A bright star has risen from earth to the sky...though extinguished from our physical sight she shines eternally in our hearts.  Nothing can keep us from her love. Irene begged us to laugh often, to love deeply, to forgive unconditionally and to eat dark chocolate with ice cream whenever possible.

Irene wrote to Queen Elizabeth and she heard back from her too. All things British tickled her fancy (tea, comedy, the Royals, actors, food, even their weather forecast and patterns).

A magnet for babies, for children and seniors, Irene's memory lives on now in those countless souls that she encountered. She remembered the birthday of anyone she loved and likely had done your astrological chart, too.

Whenever you think of  Irene: picture a gentle breeze, hear soulful music, send a whispered blessing, touch a small bird or fluttering butterfly and know she lives on.

Irene leaves behind and will be sadly missed by Mom, by her siblings, nieces and nephews, great nephews and niece, many aunts, uncles, cousins, several godchildren and treasured friends and neighbors. Lovingly welcomed into the arms of her beloved Dad.

" Let me not to the marriage

of true minds admit impediment.

Love is not love which alters

when it alteration finds...

(Love) looks on tempests

and is not shak'n."

(Sonnet 116: W. Shakespeare)

Visitation will be held at Cardinal Funeral Home, Bathurst Chapel, Toronto on August 09, 2019 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The service will take place at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Parish, 130 Bathurst Street, Toronto on August 10, 2019 at 10:30 AM.
