TAYLOR, Kent Theodore  -  (July 1, 1944 - September 13, 2019)  -  A beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife on the morning of September 13, 2019 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Kent was born in St. James, Trinidad W.I. on July 1st 1944, and immigrated to England in 1956 at 12 years old with his parents Neville & Petronilla Taylor. In 1969 he came to Canada and met his bride, Marlin 1970. They settled in Alliston, Ontario and still call the community their home today, even though moving to Newmarket in 2014.

Kent survived by his wife Marlin and son Kent Jr (Jillian) and his brother Joseph (Nancy). Kent dearly loved his three grandchildren, Kent Joseph (whom was named after him), Savannah Gayle and Shiloh Tatum. He also cherished his two beautiful nieces Natalie and Allison Taylor.

Kent had a love for gardening, various pepper sauces, Motown music,  fast cars and was an avid and passionate Chicago sports fan (Bears, Black Hawks, Cubs, White Sox and  Bulls) and was an accomplished soccer coach and player. He was extremely proud of his Caribbean heritage and passed that pride onto his family and friends alike.

Visitation at Taylor Funeral Home, 524 Davis Drive, Newmarket, on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 6:00 - 9:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Chrysostom Parish, 432 Ontario Street, Newmarket, on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 10:00am. Interment at St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery, Alliston.

For those who wish, donations made to the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
