Lorber FrankLORBER, Frank - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband and father Frank Lorber on Monday, September 16, 2019 at the age of 79 years following a courageous battle with cancer.

Frank was born in St. Ann’s Parish (Lenart), Slovenia to Franz & Stanislava Lorber and then immigrated to Canada in 1960.

He worked for Husky Injection Molding Systems as a Tool & Die Maker before leaving in 1975 to start his own business as a General Contractor.

Frank had a talent for working with his hands and loved carpentry; his favourite toy was his “BobCat” which he could often be seen driving, digging and moving dirt for his latest project or clearing a neighbour’s driveway after a snowfall. Planting a garden every year was a must, always too big, but many family & friends would receive their share of the harvest. In younger years this also resulted in many hours of canning and preserving for his wife in the kitchen.

In earlier days Frank loved to entertain with his wife Mary and was happiest with a house full of people, lots of food and his homemade wine and “polka” music playing in the background.

Frank is survived by his wife Mary of 53 years, daughter Margaret Ostrun and son-in-law Igor, daughter Maria Spinelli and son- in- law Durante, son Frank Lorber Jr and daughter-in-law Maria; also survived by grandchildren Domenica, Ilaria ,Gianluca, and Lisandro, as well as, his sisters Slavica and Mimica and brothers Victor and Joe and many extended family members in Canada, the United States & Slovenia.

A special Thank You to Dr. Reingold and the staff of William Osler Health Centre and especially nurse Joan for her care and support at home.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, Bolton on Friday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 6 – 8 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be held in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 11873 Gore Road, Brampton (Wildfield) on Saturday, September 21st at 9:30 a.m. (leaving the funeral home at 9 a.m.).  Entombment at Woodbridge.
