Dillon MargaretDILLON, Margaret “Peggy” Elizabeth (Dickinson)  -  (October 22, 1922 - October 17, 2019)  -  It is with joyful memories but heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret “Peggy” Dillon. Friend, Aunt, Grandnan, Nana and Mom.

Predeceased 48 years ago by the love of her life, Joe, finally reunited for eternity in heaven.

Her loss is deeply felt by all those who knew her. She was the most incredibly kind human being this earth has ever known, and heaven is so lucky to have her now. She was joy, light, love and happiness and she will forever be remembered that way.

Peggy volunteered her secretarial skills at the Archdiocese of Toronto and also at the O’Neill Seniors Centre for over 20 years helping with activities for those much younger than herself. She moved from her home of 80 years in Toronto on Bathurst Street (St. Peter’s Parish) to live with her family in Newmarket, for the last 10 years, Barton Retirement Residence for the last 6 months and finally for the last week of her life at Matthews House Hospice in Alliston.

Lovingly and deeply missed by her children Patricia (Don), Jo-Anne (Paul), grandchildren Erin (Chris), Shannon (Oliver), Heather-Jo (Ian), Jacquelyn (Leonard), Justine (Kurtis) and all of her twelve, and a little boy on the way, great grandchildren, whose love of life filled her world with joy and laughter.

Peggy’s family would like to sincerely thank all the wonderful caring staff at Barton Residence and at Matthews House Hospice in Alliston, especially Betty Anne who, with loving care, made Mom’s passing gentle and peaceful. Peggy had requested that in lieu of flowers you pray for her and her family at this time and support all in need of a peaceful passing at this wonderful place – Matthews House Hospice.

Friends may call at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket, on Monday, October 21 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral mass will take place at St. John Chrysostom Parish, 432 Ontario Street, Newmarket, on Tuesday, October 22 at 10 a.m. All are welcome to join the family for refreshments at the Parish Hall following the mass. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, 8361 Yonge Street, Thornhill, following the reception.
