Otten AlexanderOTTEN, Alexander Guild - Passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Toronto East General Hospital at 87 years young (born September 9,1932 in Kingston, Ontario).

Predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Joan Anne Putnam, also of Kingston, Ontario.

Dearest dad of Debbie Otten-Lawley and father-in-law of Mike Lawley. Very proud Grampy of Krista Lawley and Kaledon Lawley and uncle of Brad Ross.

A generous and kind man, Al will be fondly remembered by many longtime bowling friends (Thorncliffe Bowlerama) and church friends (Advent Lutheran Church).

A job transfer moved Al and his young family from Kingston to Toronto in 1961. He worked in the accounting department at Trans-Northern Pipeline Inc. for nearly 35 years before his retirement in 1991.

At that time, Al was able to spend a lot of his time as a volunteer dog walker at the Toronto Humane Society with his beloved sister Helen Ross, and also enjoyed many years to come in Debbie and Mike's backyard pool, enjoying bbqs and learning all about gymnastics, soccer and hockey courtesy of Krista and Kal.

A memorial service to honour Al's life will be held on Saturday, November 9th at 2:30 p.m. at Advent Lutheran Church, 2800 Don Mills Rd., North York (bottom end of "The Peanut" and just north of Fairview Mall).

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to any of his favourite charities: Toronto Zoo - torontozoo.com, 361A Old Finch Ave, Toronto, On M1B 5K7, MS Society of Canada - mssociety.donorportal.ca, 500-250 Dundas St. West, Toronto, On M5T 2Z5, Kidney Foundation of Canada - kidney.ca, 201-1599 Hurontario St., Mississauga, On L5G 4S1.
