Carey PaulineCAREY, Marcella 'Pauline' - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Pauline on Monday, December 9, 2019 at the age of 66 in Toronto, Ontario after a brief battle with cancer.

Pauline is predeceased by her father Michael Carey (d:2019) and mother Marie Blair (d:2005).

She leaves behind her husband Francis “Terry” Marquis and son Casey Marquis (Tina).

She will be dearly missed by her sister Dianna Snow (Larry), nieces Casandra (Matt) and Sabrina (Tom), and nephew Chris.

She will also be missed by her sisters-in-law Rowena (family) and Dianthia (family) as well as her very close friends Carol, Lorna and Joseph (Michelle and family) and her two cats Dexter and Maggie.

Pauline was a very kind, loving and selfless person – she always gave and never expected anything in return. She was a hard worker who spent the beginning of her career at Grolier, then East York Hydro, Postal Promotions and Ontario Special Olympics. She really enjoyed her time at Ontario Special Olympics, she thought it was the most rewarding job working with the athletes.

She was a wonderful wife to Terry for the past 49 years and an amazing and supportive mother to Casey, who was her greatest joy.

She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, in the past years donating most of her items to Sunnybrook Hospital. She also loved animals; she couldn’t say no to adopting a cat in need.

We would like to thank all of her friends for their love and support during this difficult time, your visits with her at the hospital meant a lot. We would also like to thank the staff at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Michael Garron Hospital for the care she received over the past few months.

Visitation will take place at Heritage Funeral Centre, Toronto on Saturday, December 14th from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Service will begin at 2p.m. followed by a reception.
