JACOBS, Paul, QC - (1944 - 2020) - Peacefully on January 13, 2020 after a brief but valiant battle with brain cancer.

Devoted husband of 51 years to Nellie and loving father and father in-law to Jordan and Sharyn (Costin), Andrea and Kevin Siegel, Ricky and Livy (Feldgajer) and Jonathan and Wendy (Newman).

Adoring Zaidie to Julian and Xavier; Emma, Charlie, and Jack; Hannah and Mia; and Zoey and Eden.

Beloved son to the late Morris and Ethel Jacobs; brother to Michael (Marlene); son-in-law to Eva and the late Sam Waxman; brother-in-law to Steve (Melanie) and Eliya.

Paul was a distinguished lawyer, mediator and arbitrator, proud of his 50 year career. Foremost, Paul was deeply committed to his family. He was a lover of music, Canada’s natural wonders, any kind of debate, and a writer of poetry.

Among his many legacies he was a loyal friend and proud Canadian who will forever be known for his integrity, brilliant mind, relentless fighting spirit, sense of humour and fits of laughter that often dissolved to tears.

The family wishes to thank the many wonderful nurses, doctors, staff and caregivers in the Sunnybrook dialysis and K-wing palliative care units, and the Toronto General transplant unit, for their care. Donations in Paul’s memory can be made to Kidney Research, Brain Cancer Research or the Sunnybrook Foundation.

Funeral at Adath Israel (37 Southbourne Ave, Toronto, Ontario M3H 1A4): 12pm (noon) on Tuesday, January 14. Interment at Lambton Cemetery (1305 Royal York Rd., Toronto, Ontario M9A 5E6). Shiva will begin immediately following the service at 350 Lonsdale Rd., Toronto.
