CIROLI, Cristina (nee Del Rossi) - (December 25, 1930 - January 17, 2020) - With heavy hearts we are saddened to announce the passing of our mother and wife, Cristina Ciroli (nee Del Rossi), in her 89th year.
Cristina was born December 25, 1930 in Pescosansonesco, Pescara, Italy to Alvino & Maria Del Rossi (nee Bucciacchio).
Beloved and devoted wife to Aurelio of 56 years. Loving mother to Cesira and Lora (Sergio Di Carlo). Proud Nonna to Bryan and Katrina. Caring and loving sister to Eligio Del Rossi (Lina).
Cristina will be missed and fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Canada, Italy and abroad.
As a young schoolgirl, she was very studious and excelled in school. Because of this passion for learning, it lead her to teaching in Italy. After the passing of her parents, she made the long journey to Canada by sea to start a new life and reunite with her brother in Toronto in 1962. Not long after she met her future husband and married on May 11, 1963, and soon after, they started a family.
Cristina was a dedicated wife, mother, homemaker and lifelong learner. As busy as she was, her love of teaching continued and eventually returned as an Italian Heritage Language Elementary school teacher for the Toronto Catholic and Public School Boards. She had a patient and loving nature endless hugs and kisses to spare. Cristina had a kind heart that will live forever.
Visitation at Delmoro funeral home, Toronto on January 21st from 2 - 4pm and 6 - 9pm.
Funeral Mass at St. Jane Frances Roman Catholic Church, 2747 Jane St., Toronto on January 22nd at 9:30 a.m.
In memory of Cristina, donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Canada and the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
