ricci GiovanninaRICCI, Giovannina - It is with profound sorrow, we mourn the passing of our beloved mother Giovannina Ricci in the afternoon of Sunday, March 22, 2020 at the age of 97

Was the beloved wife of the late Domenico Palmerino Ricci of 48 yrs. and cherished mother Maria (late) Son-in-Law Saro) & Tony & Daughter in law - Yolanda

Proud Nonna of Gina (late Sammy) & Marco Re - Patricia , Diane & Domenic Anthony & Great-Grandchildren Samantha, Lauren, Emma, Daniel & Natalie.

Our Beautiful Mother, Giovannina Ricci, immigrated to Canada with her two children Maria and Tony on June 28, 1956. We were very happy to come and join our dad, Domenico Palmerino Ricci, who came to Toronto, Canada on February 10, 1955. He came with his brother, Stefano Giuseppe Ricci, to join their brother, Antonio Ricci, and family. We were very excited to reunite with our Uncles, Aunts & Cousins.

Our mother was born in Castiglione di Carovilli in March 2, 1923. Mom had one Sister, (late) Angelina Di Palma Fabrizio. Their mother, Nonna Graziella, passed away at a young age. We grew up with Nonno, Pasquale.

Upon arrival, we went to live with our (late) uncle Antonio and aunt Maria and family at Hounslow Heath Rd, Toronto. On July, 1956, our Aunt, (late) Domenica Ida Ricci, with her three children also joined us in the household. Altogether there were three sister-in-laws with their families which included seven cousins, but we were all very happy together. After a few years our dad bought a new home at St. Clair & Dufferin and uncle, zio Joe, bought one on Hounslow Heath Rd.

Our mother, Giovannina, was excited and proud with her grandchildren: Gina Re, Sammy Re and Marco Re, Patricia Ricci , Diane Ricci and Domenic Anthony Ricci. Our mom was even more proud of her Great Grandchildren Samantha, Lauren and Emma, parents Gina and Nick Cardinale and grandchildren Natalie and Daniel, parents Diane and Domenic Contino.

When our Sammy left us to go to Heaven in 1990, all our hearts and dreams were broken. In 1992 our dad, Domenico Palmerino, also left this world. Mom was now alone with her proud family.

Dear Mom, you went to join the rest of our Family in Heaven.
We Will Miss You!
But, you will be in Our Hearts Forever and Never Forgotten
May You Rest in Peace “ che La Tua Anima Riposa in Pace.

With the recent COVID-19 outbreak and Public Health recommendations, we are taking caution to protect the safety of our friends, family and community, especially those who may be most at risk. We will be keeping the visitation and service limited to a small number of guests, and deeply thank everyone for their understanding at this time.

We want to give our loved ones the opportunity to extend their condolences. We encourage friends and family to share their cherished memories of Giovannina on our memory wall (tab above), where we will be collecting them to read as a family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of our friends and family who have shown their heartfelt support during this difficult time.
