Doucette ThomasDOUCETTE, Thomas Peter - Peacefully in his home on Sunday March 22, 2020 at the age of 79.

Predeceased by his parents, Benoit (Ben) and Caroline Doucette and siblings, Joseph (Joe), Elois (Jerry), Emily (Milly), Augustine (Jap), Bernice and Edmond. He will be sadly missed by his sister Pauline and his many nieces and nephews.

Born in Rustico, PEI, Thomas was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He served for more than 20 years in bases all over Canada with the majority of his service time spent in Germany. He was stationed back in PEI at the time of his retirement from the force. Thomas then moved to Toronto and began a second career at Dehavilland, now Boeing, building aircraft.

Retiring from his second career at Boeing after more than 20 years, he began actual retirement in earnest. Spending time travelling, riding his bike, visiting with family and friends and more recently he developed an interest in reported UFO sightings in Toronto.

Thomas’s years in the service ignited a lifelong love of travel and over the years he visited many parts of the world bringing back countless stories of his many adventures.

Never happier than when he had a good day at the casino, Thomas could often be found trying his luck at the tables.

Fond of spirited debate over any number of topics, poker and other card games, family board game nights with his sister’s family, as well being as a seasoned Crokinole player, Thomas was always happy to try his hand at whatever was going and could also be counted on to provide a helping hand when needed.

Due to the need for social distancing his family will be holding a private gathering honouring his memory. Arrangements with Giffen-Mack funeral home, 2570 Danforth Ave., Toronto.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
