Chiaino FrankCHIAINO, Francesco 'Frank' - Francesco passed away peacefully on March 24, 2020 at the age of 101.

Beloved husband of Antonietta, loving father of Gina (Pepe) and Silvana, and proud grandfather of Frank.

He was a hardworking man who always put his family ahead of himself. He loved school and learning and instilled the same interest in his children. You would often find him sitting in the sun by the sliding door with a pad of paper writing stories about his life and his experiences in the war.

His faith in God was never wavering and he was always eager to share his hope with others. Francesco loved his vegetable garden, especially his beans, and he enjoyed making wine and prosciutto every year. These skills he proudly passed on to his grandson. He loved the outdoors, nature shows, hunting and fishing, and he loved watching Totò movies trying to keep the laughter in but to no avail.

He loved to reminisce about his hometown Controne, Italy and the many friends he had there growing up. Often you would find him sitting next to his wife in the family room talking about the old days in the town. Francesco had a sweet tooth. He was always the first in line at the sweet table at weddings.

Francesco loved his wife dearly and was always concerned about her well-being, and until recently had breakfast ready for her on the table each morning. He was a great father and to his last days we went to him for advice.

Thank you Daddy for giving us so many beautiful memories and such a wonderful life.

A private burial will take place on Monday, March 30th. A memorial service is planned for a future date once the pandemic has passed. Arrangements with Ward funeral homes, Toronto.
