Herzog MariaHERZOG, Maria - On April 5, 2020 our beloved Mom and Grandma passed away peacefully at the Guildwood Extendicare in Scarborough.

She will forever be missed by her sister, Rosie Ilk, daughter: Elizabeth Leech (George Couture), her sons, John Herzog, Frank Herzog, (Shirley Spencer), Peter Herzog, Paul Herzog (Cathy Furlano-Herzog), and her 10 grandchildren: Tara (Jeff), Colleen (Jay), Krista (Chris), Carrie (David), Heather (Mike), Daniel (Jessica), Jenny, Frankie (Kaitlin), David (Daniella) and Patrick (Jessica) as well as her great-grandchildren: Pearson, Olivia, Riley, Jayme, Isabelle, Zachary, Annabelle, Lennon and Bowie.

Maria was predeceased by her Husband Franz Herzog and her mother Rosalia Zriny.

Maria was born on December 1st, 1925 in Yugoslavia. She was raised in Yugoslavia and moved to Austria during the war and then came to Canada in 1954. Maria worked many years as a house cleaner but was a natural caregiver her entire life to those who knew her as Mom, Grandma.

She will fondly be remembered for her love of gardening in the backyard and her beautiful tulips in the front yard. Her family was the most important thing in Maria’s life, and parts of her unforgettable character will live on in her daughter, sons, grandchildren, and future generations.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated by the family.
